Lesson From A Beaver
Walking is my exercise of choice these days, I am not one that really enjoyed the gym I prefer to be outside getting some rays from Ra and being among nature. I can no longer play my favorite sport of tennis because of Arthritis, commonly known as Arthur. Tennis was my game, not that I was that great at it but I just love getting off on the little white ball, it was white when I first started playing the game at Langdon Park, now the park that honors the father of Go Go Chuck Brown. While working at plantation WJLA TV and even plantation US Chamber of Commerce, playing tennis helped me deal with this system of white supremacy. Exercise is very important for the mind, body and spirit.
As I have spent several years now in personal study of self… Know thy Self, learning about my original culture as a descendant of Afrika and Indigenous to this continent I understand how important it is to be in nature. My belief that it is important be among nature is reinforced when I read “What A Shaman Sees In A Mental Hospital”, By Malidoma Patrice Somé. As part of the Sacred Ritual Approach to Mental Health being in nature, in the mountains, by the river was part of the healing energy.
Even though I no longer attend a Christian Church I do recognize that I gained some spiritual knowledge from various people, for example: Dr. Rev. Darrell Macklin, St. Paul Baptist Church, said to me to check the Spirit by the Spirit, where I gained a major part of my spiritual knowledge was at Union Temple Baptist Church from Rev. Willie Wilson and the many Ministers that were teaching while I attended and worked at UTBC. The concept of Know thy Self and As A Man Think, So It is were consistently taught. Pastor Wilson would talk about our great ancestor Dr. George Washington Carver.
He would tell the congregation that Dr. Carver taught that you could learn a lot by observing nature. Presently I am learning at the Temple of Nyame, Nana Kwabena Chief Priest and Founder and Bokor Iya Marie Brown Senior Priest.
While walking one day I observed the work done by Beavers at Buddy Attick Park, In Greenbelt, Md. It has been a while since I actually saw a beaver at the lake but the evidence of their work was all over the place. I was amazed by their consistent work and the size of the trees that were taken down by their magnificent work. Small trees, big tall trees with thick trunks, mature trees that strong winds did not take down, tree with deep roots … all types of trees… it did not matter. The beaver knew that it had a job to do and it went about it work without intimidation.
The message that was being relayed to me did not come into understanding immediately. I found a nice comfortable space, and sat among heaven and prayed, chanted and meditated. Three very powerful actions… Prayer, Chanting and Meditation. Prayer for me is talking to the All Mighty God. Chanting is a spiritual connection to the universe that is vibratory and positive energy being generated.
I use the Buddhist chant. Nam – Myoho – Renge – Kyo. Chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo over and over enables one to create fortune, wisdom, health and happiness in ones life! My cousin James Brewster whom is a practicing Buddhist, SGI-USA taught chanting to me. Meditation for me is sitting quietly, doing my best to have mind to be quite, to listen but not to be engaged. When I reach that state meditative state I know I am in Heaven, I am with my God, with my Ancestors, with my Orissa’s and the Dwarfs…. I am their just chilling. I may see colors. Off in the distant or nearby I may hear the birds, insects but that is not my purpose… my sensory of hearing is heightened but my goal is to hear from All mighty God, an Ancestor or Ancestors, an Orissa or Orissa’s, a dwarf. When one Meditate one may realize they no longer need to self-Medicate. When one Meditate one may realize they no longer need to Self Medicate. When one Meditate one may realize they no longer need to Self Medicate.
No longer Self-Medicate, think of all that money that one would have if they did not self-Medicate… let that marinate.
And there it was, the message from nature via Meditation… the Lessons from the Beaver. Do not let the magnitude, Do not let the power, and Do not let the longevity of this System of White Supremacy stop you from doing your part to eliminate this system from planet earth. Do what you do with a goal to eliminate this System of White Supremacy from planet Earth. Dr. Francis Cress Welsing spent her life doing her part, el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz (Malcolm X) spent his life doing his part, members of the Black Panther Party did their part, Kwame Nkrumah did his part, just to name a few. Do your part. We can do this.

RACISM (white supremacy), is the local and global power system and dynamic, structured and maintained by persons who classify themselves as white, whether consciously or subconsciously determined, which consists of patterns of perception, logic, symbol formation, thought, speech, action and emotional response, as conducted simultaneously in all areas of people activity (economics, education, entertainment, labour, law, politics, religion, sex and war); for the ultimate purpose of white genetic survival and to prevent white genetic annihilation on planet earth – a planet upon which the vast majority of people are classified as non-white (Black, Brown, Red and Yellow) by white skinned people, and all of the nonwhite people are genetically dominant (in terms of skin coloration) compared to the genetic recessive white skin people.”
People who classify themselves as White, who wish to be taken seriously, and who are righteous and responsible, will only talk about ending White Supremacy (Racism) and replacing it with Justice. For further understanding, read “The Cress Theory of Color-Confrontation and Racism (White Supremacy)”, 1970. Also, “The Isis Papers (The Keys to the Colors)”, Frances C. Welsing, Third World Press, 1990.
Dr. Welsing states that, for the sake of Black mental health and for Black intelligence, all people of color must understand the dynamics of racism/white supremacy, what it is and how it works, so that they can have an appropriate, self-respecting response to racism/ white supremacy. Dr. Welsing further states that, once the collective people (non-white), understand this fundamental issue (racism/ white supremacy), the ultimate organizing of all the appropriate behaviors necessary to neutralize this great injustice of the white supremacy system, it will only be a matter of time.
